five friday confessions

  • I've always been paranoid about being the "new annoying girl who tries too hard" and with all of the new situations going on {new job, new town, new people} I'm constantly beating myself up over what I say and do and imagine everyone is judging me.
  • I keep eating dessert-like things for breakfast {really in addition to my breakfast because I eat that too}. Oatmeal cream pie with my coffee? Sure, why not! It starts with the word oatmeal...
  • I have lost all interest in decorating the new house now. All of a sudden it feels so... overwhelming.
  • I keep stalking groupon and livingsocial for another deal on pictures. I really want to have 9 month pictures taken of Quinn and you just can't beat their $18 package specials!
  • I want to start planning Quinn's first birthday party. Yes, I'm that mom.

  1. I am SO with you on the first one! :) I am really hard on myself and overanalyze whether or not I tried too hard, etc! At least we care, right??? :)

  2. I started planning Chase's party at 6 months! You better get on it ;) What about getting pictures taken at target or jcpenney? I think they are pretty cheap. I am with you on the overwhelming decorating! Plus you don't want to spend a ton of money right after buying a house! It will get there don't worry.

  3. So, I was reading Meagan's blog just now and she instructed us to hop over here and show some love...I was intrigued so I did. Then I saw you live in Spartanburg and I was more intrigued. So I proceeded to read through your posts this week. Love your blog. Guess I should start with saying, I'm in SC as well, my best friend went to Clemson, my brother just graduated from Spartanburg and well yeah I'm a native of SC.

Let me just say, there's nothing wrong with dessert for breakfast. I don't know why we don't all do it. As for birthday planning, girl start whenever you want! Go as all out or not as you want. This first year, while it is Quinn's birthday, is really more for mom and dad. Ok, let's be real, more for mom!

Last but not least, don't be tough on yourself about finding your voice and self in this crazy blog world. It takes time. You'll get there. In fact, I think you're more there than you think. It took me realizing I REALLY wanted to write for me and NOT to keep my family in the look that gave me the push. So I started my current blog, didn't tell any of my family except the Hubs and my BFF and it just felt right.

Sorry for the absurdly long comment, just kind of felt compelled to share some blog love tonight :)
