slow it down

Not sure how, but we managed to get up on Sunday in time to go to church. Probably what got me out of bed was the fact that we had another busy day planned. We were getting our picture taken for the church directory at 12:15, then zooming off to our old house for the afternoon. We're between renters and wanted to spruce up the yard with some fresh mulch.

Well, God must have been serious about keeping Sunday as a day of rest because after church everything else got canceled. The photographer never showed to take the pictures and my mom called to say the mulch lady had forgotten and went out on the lake for the day!

We all relaxed for the afternoon, taking naps and snuggling on the couch.

Apparently two lovies weren't enough. He had to hold onto four! Sweet boy.

We are totally the best parents ever. While the hubs and I recovered on the couch, we let Quinn play how he saw fit, including climbing into the bed of his truck. That devilish grin was right after I told him to get down. Boys.

clemson vs boston college game

Woowhee, that was a game! It definitely should not have been as emotional as it was. Thankfully Clemson pulled through in the end.

Our weekend started late late late on Friday night. The hubs had been working all week in Florida, so he had to make the drive all the way home Friday night. Quinn and I got to Clemson around dinner time, but the hubs didn't pull into the driveway until midnight. I stayed up waiting for him which I definitely shouldn't have because someone decided it was time to rise and shine at 6am.

I tried to distract him with some Mickey Mouse Clubhouse watching hoping I could at least close my eyes, but that wasn't good enough.

There was dancing, snacking, and lots of lego playing. Thankfully his cousin Eric came out to play and they could entertain each other.

While we headed off to campus for the afternoon, Kathy and Kevin took all three kids to a pumpkin patch. I believe they ended up having more fun than we did ha!

90 Minutes Before Kickoff is always a good show. Tiger Band never disappoints!

The drumline put out a great show! Love when they add tricks into their routine.

It also happened to be Twirler and Dancer for a Day during pregame. I think there was over 200 little ones out there! So cute! If we have a little girl you better believe I will sign her up for stuff like that haha.

While I struggled to stay awake during the game, my sister-in-law texted me all of these adorable pictures! Proof that Quinn had the BEST time with his cousins. His clothes also served as proof. They were filthy. I even found a couple corn kernels in the washing machine the next day!

silly mornings

On the very rare occasion that we have some extra time in the morning before needing to leave (99% of the time we're running late), I try and take out my phone to snap some pictures of my silly boy.

Most are normally blurry...

Or have really terrible lighting...

But they're moments...moments of being silly or sweet or a cranky toddler.

I don't want to forget how little he was...

Or the funny faces he made...

So we take pictures together and send them to daddy or memere or papa or whoever else might find it adorable, ha! If I tried to wait for the perfect opportunity with the right light, right camera, right expression, I wouldn't have anything. I'll take my blurry pictures over nothing any day.

I may be a boy mom but...

I may be a boy mom, but I have discovered that I can make a mean bow! A very sweet little girl had her first birthday so I wanted to make her something special. I had already purchased an adorable romper with raspberries on it, so I decided to pull up pinterest and give bow making a try.

I love the color combination of this bow! It's not extremely girly and goes perfectly with the romper. I had so much fun making this one, I went ahead a made a couple more.

They're so bright and cheery! The good thing about not having a little girl is that I won't be tempted to keep these bows all to myself. They're going to make for fun Christmas gifts.

If you're interested in some custom bows be sure to let me know. The above one is a Halloween themed bow for Miss KB. The googlie eyes make it perfectly silly!

Parker's 1st birthday

Another baby turning one and another shake of reality that I must be growing up ha! All of these milestones sure are flying by, weddings, pregnancy announcements, and now first birthdays.

Upon arrival Jessica greeted everyone with a smile as she chased around her little lady and Bryan was the proud papa offering the parents a cocktail of their choice {sure I'll have a glass of wine!}.

The decor made me think of the famous line from Steel Magnolias.
"My colors are blush and bashful."
"Her colors are pink and pink."
Haha! It was beautiful though!

Getting little miss to stand still for a picture was pretty impossible. She's had things to do and people to visit!

Opening presents became somewhat of a spectacle when Parker realized it was much more fun to climb up on the boxes than just tear the paper off.

Parker really enjoyed this hand made rocking horse she received. As soon as someone stopped helping her rock, she would sway back and forth on her own.

I did manager to get a quick picture with the birthday girl before it was time for cake!

Congratulations to Jessica and Bryan on their little princess turning one. We all know this is about celebrating survival so high five to y'all!

walk in the park

Our rental house is in between renters right now, so the hubs went to go spruce it up for the day. Since Quinn and I had a whole Saturday to fill, we took advantage of the beautiful weather and headed out.

I had to run a couple errands and for being so patient with me, afterwards I took bubs to the park down the street from our house.

I'm not sure which he liked better, the swing or the slide. He probably went back and forth about a dozen times.

Now that he's a bit more stable on his feet, it was great to watch him climb and slide completely on his own.

I hate that this picture is blurry, but it's the best I could get. He was a man on the move!

He thought he was cool stuff crawling through the tubes all on his own, choosing which slide to go down.

Watching him exit the tube made me giggle until I realized that I'm not so sure I could do it any more gracefully ha!

It was the best hour of my day, watching him run and jump and the huge smile spread across his face. He pretty much rotated between swing, slide, and snack the entire time. He sat down for only about 30 seconds when I snapped the above picture. I believe he enjoyed himself and I enjoyed the nice long nap he took when we got home!

Whenever I think about Homecoming at Clemson, I picture a huge tailgate filled with friends, beers in hand, catching up, and playing corn hole. I think of all our babies running around together while hot dogs are cooking. Sadly that wasn't the case this year. We had a small tailgate with another couple, but it was still fun. Maybe next year we can plan for the big one.

This picture is actually from the day before. We always wear our orange to daycare on Fridays and he was just being so sweet that morning.

We had to be on campus a bit early to get Danny registered for alumni band. Right as we arrived at Brooks, I received this picture from Kathy. Somebody decided to help himself to her fruit loops!

Danny and Chris marched their trombones but I decided to skip it this year. I took pictures and video instead ha!

While we were off doing alumni band, Kathy had Quinn. She, Kevin, Ashley, and Eric took him to see the floats on Bowman Field.

Quinn loves his cousins so much. It so fun to watch him try to keep up. They are all so sweet together.

Another beautiful Saturday in the books and another Clemson win too!

shooting range and slides

In December, the hubs and I are going to a class to get our concealed weapons permits. I mentioned to the hubs how it might be a good idea to go to the shooting range once or twice before we test seeing as how I haven't been shooting since before I was pregnant. {Side note: how is that almost 3 years ago??}

After church on Sunday, we headed to Greenville. The hubs' mother and brother-in-law would be joining us, while his sister watched the kids.

How funny is it to see my mother-in-law holding that huge gun? We were getting ready to leave when that man came in and she wanted to stay to watch him shoot. He offered to let her shoot it. She held the gun but declined on shooting once she saw how much it kicked against him ha!

After shooting, we met Kathy and the kids at the park. They were all having a blast running around. Quinn shows no signs of fear when it comes to climbing, jumping, swinging, or sliding. We're gonna be in trouble ha!

Since bubs didn't nap, we headed home early. While I gave Quinn a bath and put him to bed, the hubs picked up a pizza for dinner. I was glad to be lounging on the couch with nothing important to do. In my opinion, that's the best way to end the weekend.
