August 22nd

For our nephew, Eric's, first birthday Danny and I went to Clemson and Danny cooked a low country boil. The boil was yummy (I had mine without the shrimp) and the cake was even yummier. Just ask Eric. He got his own cake to dig into that night and boy did he dig in. So adorable!

August 15th

For Tara's birthday we did a bar crawl downtown. We all met at Carolina Wing's to start off the night. Tara was one happy girl. I think I can say with confidence that she had a great night. The funniest part to me was when she saw Danny...

Danny was camping on an island with his boy scouts so he met us downtown a little later. Tara had been asking when he was going to show up, when I noticed him coming across the bar. I pointed him out to Tara and she ran towards him, yelled, "Danny!", and then jumped onto him in bear-hug form. It was hilarious, especially Danny's surprised face.

We hit Wild Wing and later Blue that night. Apparently the night ended with singing Michael Jackson's "I'm Bad" through the sun roof of the car. I wasn't there for that, but I can only imagine...

August 14th

Danny and I went to a tractor pull! Danny had heard about it on the radio, so what better way to spend Friday night is there? Even better was when we got there a guy randomly picked me to give his extra two tickets to, so we got in for free.

I hadn't been to a tractor pull since I was little. The family would go after we saw my cousin Kathryn show her animals (goats, cows, etc). I always loved going. I remember when my brother was in one when he was really little. I think he won third place. Good times.

August 8th & 9th

Shannon and Neil came to visit for the weekend. I was so glad to have my two best friends with me. It had been way too long since Shannon and I had spent time together (end of February I think).

Shannon and I did a lot of catching up that Friday night, but Saturday all of us went out on the lake with Mom, Daddy, and Casey. It was a gorgeous day out and we all just took it easy. Sunday the four of us went to hear our friend Jason preach at his new church, which is conveniently right down the road from where I live.

August 1st

Aaron, Jenny, Danny, and I drove 8 hours to Ohio this weekend for Nikki's wedding. The trip was fun and interesting to say the least. We entertained ourselves with YouTube videos during the car ride and came up with ridiculous sayings (I'm on a boat with my flippy floppies!) that gave us all the giggles.

The night before the big day we went over to Nikki and Will's house to help with last minute details. Aaron ironed Nikki's crinoline, Danny made Nikki's bouquet, and I helped one of the bridesmaids Jen make the corsages and boutineers. We were there pretty late and Nikki still had a list of things to do. It made me glad that I didn't have last minute things to do for my wedding.

The wedding was beautiful. Jenny and I got ready upstairs with Nikki and her bridesmaids. Her dress was amazing. She was a little jumpy (nothing some champagne can't fix), but mostly smiles. We had such a great time at the reception dancing and laughing. We hated for Sunday to come, along with the long drive home.

July 11th - 18th

For our summer vacation, Danny and I traveled to Indian Rocks, Florida with Danny's family. We shared a condo on the beach with Kathy, Kevin, Ashley, Eric, and Harriette for the week. We couldn't have been any closer to the beach unless the condo was in the middle of the ocean. It was pretty nice.

On the way to and from Florida we stopped in Jacksonville to visit our friend Jason. Neither of us had seen him in awhile since he couldn't make it to our wedding. It was great catching up and reminiscing.

Danny and I visited my aunt and uncle while we were there. Michelle took us on a dolphin tour in Tarpon Springs one day. I got some pretty cool pictures.

Danny traveled the three hours to see the space shuttle launch, twice. The first time everyone but Harriette and I went and it did not go off. The second time only Danny went and it did. I just didn't want to sit in a car for that long to not see it go off. Danny got a pretty amazing picture that later ended up in the Greenville newspaper.

We met Kevin's parents at a fun restaurant that had a Wurlitzer organ in it. It was pretty neat to watch it be played. All of the pipes and other instruments connected to it were all over the entire room.

It was a pretty interesting trip.
