This weekend Danny decided he wanted to go camping at Pisgah with the boys. I told him I refused to poo in the snow so I went to ATL to visit Shannon.
Danny, Jim, Matt, and Robin made the trek up into the mountains while I headed south to Shannon's parents' house.
It was the perfect girly weekend for me. Shannon and I got our nails done and went shopping and watched Mamma Mia. I was very thankful for the much needed best friend time.
The only downfall of the weekend was the drive home. It started snowing heavily and a three hour ride home took me nearly six. I was exhausted when I got home, but at least I made it home safe and sound.

February 22nd
Our neighbors, Lynn and Tim, have two little girls that were recently introduced into the wonderful world of scrapbooking. I went over to their house Sunday to scrapbook with them. Jordan and Taylor were so excited to have me there to help. They are very creative girls. After spending the day over there I felt very inspired to work on our wedding scrapbook. Hooray for creative days!

February 21st
Saturday morning I made the trek to Clemson to join Kathy, Kevin, Harriette, Ashley, and Eric on an adventure to Scaly Mountain. Danny wasn't interested so he stayed at home.
The first stop on the adventure was lunch at the Dillard House. They serve some amazing southern food. Eric had his first taste of squash and boy did he love it. I tried collards for the first time and was pretty surprised at how sweet they are.
After completely stuffing our faces, we had to wake up and will ourselves to get up from the table. Now it was time for the real reason we were there, snow tubing!
Ashley was quite excited but we never could convince her to go down the big hill. We all got lots of exercise hauling the tubes up the hill over and over but it was lots of fun.

On Valentine's Day the air was filled with...skeets. What says I love you more than shooting skeet? Danny had been itching to use his new shot gun and skeet thrower since the day he got them, so why not use them on Valentine's Day.
Jim, Casey, and Kathleen all came over that afternoon to blow through a couple of boxes of clay skeets. I fired a 20 gauge shot gun and a 12 gauge shot gun once each and that was enough for me. I'm not a big fan of the kick or the loud bang, so I went back to popping off Danny's 22 rifle at the targets he had set up for me.
Later that afternoon Neil showed up. Everyone had finished up the ammo and we were getting hungry. Danny and the boys grilled some amazing steaks and started a bon fire. Mary came and helped me make mac n cheese, green beans, and cornbread. We all ate very well that night. The beer pong table was set up and the drinking commenced. The boys played while Mary and I made smores. Yummy! Another fun night with friends!

The first weekend in February, Gil had a meeting in Columbia so Harriette decided to come along. She had just recently bought a new carpet cleaner and wanted to clean our rug for us. Who was I to refuse? They showed up around nine in the morning. Gil dropped off Harriette and continued onto his meeting in Columbia while we got to work on the rug.
It was quite the workout. The carpet cleaner is the type that vibrates and you use powder, not water. This would be easy if we were cleaning a carpet that was held down, but we were cleaning the rug in the living room and it went everywhere. The rug and the cleaner pretty much had a mind of its own. We did manage to get it done though. Not all of the stains came out but a good deal did and the best part was that it smelled better.
After tackling the rug Harriette wanted to go to the Jo-Ann's so off we went. While neither of found any fabric we did get an amazing deal on scrapbooking paper. Packs of paper that would normally cost $20 were discounted 50% and then Harriette had a coupon for another 20% off that. We walked out of there with treasures in hand for $8 a pack!
All the while Harriette and I were doing this, Danny was up in the attic with our neighbor Tim blowing insulation. It took them until nearly four o'clock to fill it up, but it is now done. Boy did they create a mess too. It could have been much worse I suppose, but the hallway was covered in dust. After a much needed shower, Danny and I went over to Tim and Lynn's house for steamed oysters and shrimp (I had sausage). It was a nice ending to a very productive day.
