Haddie-Lynn: six months

Dear Haddie-Lynn,

You my little sass-pot are half a year old! In these past six months you have changed so much. You are still a very very happy baby but have your moments where you cry out. I'm so thankful you are easy going 90% of the time.

You were eating at 6, 9, 12, 3, 6, and 10 with a random middle of the night wake up, so we switched things up about half way through the month. You now eat 6, 9, 12, 3, 6, and 9 and no more wake ups!! You are also settling back into a less confusing nursing session where you just do your thing and are happy about it. You are taking 5 oz bottles at daycare for your 9,12, and 3 feedings and we were told to start feeding you solids twice a day.

At your six month check up you weighed 14lb 1oz (14th percentile), were 25.5" long (34th percentile), and had a head circumference of 16.625" (49th percentile). For comparison sake your brother was 14.6lb (5th percentile), 26.5" long (45th percentile), and had a head circumference of 17" (46th percentile). Since your weight dipped down some in percentiles, that's why the doctor wants you to have baby food twice a day. I'm not too worried about it. Your brother did the same thing.

Your six month clothes seem to be fitting you just fine still. I'm not sure the footies will last too much longer, but they are ok for now. I'll be so happy when we can put you in rompers and call it a day. The warmer weather is just around the corner! Your diapers are still on the smallest rise and two rows of snaps are open around the waist.

You are showing much more interest in your toys now. You love the play mat that Memere and Papa gave you for Christmas. I hang all sorts of things on it above you and you love to grab and reach. You consistently flip from your back to your tummy but somehow get stuck that way. That doesn't stop you from squirming completely off the mat and into the middle of the room though. That's when the wailing starts, haha. I cleaned up the exersaucer and put you in it for the first time. You hold your feet tucked up under you while in it though hehe.

You love to sit up to look around and be nosey, but show no interest in trying to sit on your own. If I let you go, flop! The bumbo is the perfect solution for now. I plop you in it and have you in the kitchen with me where you will shake your toys and tell me stories.

You did come down with a yucky sinus infection this past month. It was so bad that gunk started oozing out your eyes. I just felt terrible for you. Thankfully some amoxicillin cleared it up in a jiffy.

We traveled to Georgia for Kailyn's first birthday as well as to North Carolina for a trip to Biltmore. You did beautifully on both trips. So glad both you and your brother like car trips. You slept in the car 90% of the time. When you would start to fuss, you would quickly find your fingers and start sucking away to self-soothe.

Bubs and sissy at six months

You are our sunshine.

All my love,
Mama
