it's going to be a hot one!

Now that summer is in full swing, I plan on being in some body of water as much as possible. We have a pool in our backyard and a lake across the street, both wonderful options. The Cegelis' are quickly becoming our lake couple. This time they brought their dog Lexi for her first boat ride.

The next day we took a turn on Jim's boat. Jim wanted to water ski so he needed a driver and a spotter.

memorial day weekend

Well it's nearly two weeks after the fact, but I am posting about it! Shannon came to visit for the weekend which meant lots of fun girl time. On Saturday we went out on the lake with my parents, my brother, one of his friends, as well as Shannon, Jessica, and Bryan.

On Sunday, the hubs left with my dad, my brother, and the hubs best friend to go to Charlotte for the Coca-Cola 600. This left Shannon and I to do lots of girly stuff. We perused World Market and went to see the movie Bridesmaids.

I know I'm in the minority when I saw this, but I just didn't think the movie was as fantastic as everyone makes it out to be. Yes it's funny, but I would declare it as one of my favorites.

Monday was a piddle around the house kind of day. Shannon left around 1 o'clock and I decided to bake. I had picked up a scone mix at World Market and boy was it delish!

oopsies

I haven't been doing a very good job of keeping up with my blog. I'm regretting it already since this is my way to write down all the happenings to look back on later. Here's a run down of what I need to catch up on:

- Memorial Day weekend which involved a visit from the bestie and a day on the lake

- New ultrasound pictures including the sex of our baby

- Weekend on the lake

- The project list continues with the completion of the boat and now the construction of the garage

- Taking back control of our pool from the frogs and thousands of tadpoles

Hopefully I'll be back on track soon!

bubble bath

Tonight I decided to take a bubble bath. It's been forever and if I had to guess the last time I took a bath I would say it was back when my accident happened...in 2004.  After being bed bound for weeks I took the longest bath of my life scrubbing away the grime. This bath was a bit different.

I found my stash of smelly bubbles and bath salts and soaked in a hot tub for over an hour reading a book. It was perfection. I'm already looking forward to taking another one tomorrow night.

I've had indigestion (yay pregnancy) since last night and the hot bath was very soothing. Afterwards I coated myself in lotion and put on my favorite pink robe to let it all soak in. Now I'm very ready for bed, ha!

For my birthday the hubs and I had dinner at Miyabi's Japanese Grill with my three favorite couples. It was perfect and just what I wanted, yummy food and great laughs.

So is being pregnant a valid excuse for the lack of blog posts? I hope so, since it's all I got. I'm 12 weeks today and baby Scales is due November 17th. The only pictures I have to share are the ultrasound ones below. No bump pics yet because {luckily} there isn't a bump.

Up until about the 10 week mark, this SATC quote could best sum up how I was feeling:

"I don't know why they call it 'morning sickness' when it's all fucking day long. Unless it's M-O-U-R-N as in, 'mourning the lost of your single life.'" -Miranda

I definitely had morning sickness and it definitely was all day long. So happy to be past that phase. Now I'm just battling the tiredness. This would be the biggest reason I never blog.  I'd just like to sleep until I don't feel tired anymore, but alas I fear that will never happen especially when the baby is born.
