all aboard!

This past Saturday we celebrated my nephew turning six! He had a train themed birthday party at the Miniature World of Trains in downtown Greenville. To prepare for the party that afternoon, bubs requested that we play with his "big choo choo."

His "big choo choo" is the GeoTrax train from Fisher Price and he loves it! I've mentioned this train before, but it really is pretty awesome for his age. The track is easy for him to snap together and he loves the remote controlled engine.

Quinn played with the train all morning long and I only had to be about 30% involved, ha! I was able to sit and sip on my coffee as he adjusted how many cars the engine pulled around the track.

I love a toy that let's him play on his own without getting frustrated. I'd say we could add more, but the boy already has a whole laundry basket full of track, cars, and bridges!

Baby Elton John made an appearance on the ride to Greenville. Those bright green sunglasses just crack me up. He loves them.

We were a bit late on our arrival because hubs' truck decided to break down on the way home from the dump. Luckily he managed to limp it home, but we arrived just in time to see Eric open his presents.

I was the boring Aunt this year who gave him clothes, but Grandma gave him a train set. All the little boys, Quinn included, were ooohhhh'ing and ahhhh'ing over that one.

There was a monster of a mountain built in the center of the room with trains running around, up and down, and through. It was very impressive. You could walk completely around the mountain and take it all in.

I'm not sure who enjoyed the trains more, hubs or bubs haha.

Right before we left, they turned the lights into night mode. That was even more impressive. The buildings and trains all lit up. There were light up signs on the stores and glowing cabins in the mountains. Very cool.

Parker's 1st birthday

Another baby turning one and another shake of reality that I must be growing up ha! All of these milestones sure are flying by, weddings, pregnancy announcements, and now first birthdays.

Upon arrival Jessica greeted everyone with a smile as she chased around her little lady and Bryan was the proud papa offering the parents a cocktail of their choice {sure I'll have a glass of wine!}.

The decor made me think of the famous line from Steel Magnolias.
"My colors are blush and bashful."
"Her colors are pink and pink."
Haha! It was beautiful though!

Getting little miss to stand still for a picture was pretty impossible. She's had things to do and people to visit!

Opening presents became somewhat of a spectacle when Parker realized it was much more fun to climb up on the boxes than just tear the paper off.

Parker really enjoyed this hand made rocking horse she received. As soon as someone stopped helping her rock, she would sway back and forth on her own.

I did manager to get a quick picture with the birthday girl before it was time for cake!

Congratulations to Jessica and Bryan on their little princess turning one. We all know this is about celebrating survival so high five to y'all!

another happily ever after

Last night the hubs and I celebrated our friends Dana and Daniel as they tied the knot. Dana and the hubs have known each other since high school. They dated for a skinny minute and then realized they were better off as best friends.

I really should be ashamed of the picture quality below but I decided to just use my phone for the night. I recorded the entire ceremony instead of taking pictures because I wished someone had recorded my wedding for me. The "pictures" of the ceremony are actually screen shots from paused video on my phone (yay technology!).

There were tons of giggles when the best man handed the preacher Dana's ring still in the little clear baggie ha! Daniel called time-out while he fished out the ring

happy birthday Eric

My nephew turned 4 this past week, so the weekend before we went to the Pavilion in Greenville to celebrate. There is a cute little park with play grounds and George the train for the kiddos. I have to say that this was the very first "fun" birthday for Eric. He totally knew it was his birthday and was totally into it ha!

It'll be fun to watch these cousins grow up together. Eric is always wanting to play with baby Quinn as he calls him. It seems like just yesterday Eric was a baby himself. I'm sure in the blink of an eye we'll be celebrating Quinn's 4th birthday.
